Local Area

In order for you to get an idea of the many different areas in and around the Orihuela Costa, we have written a short summary of each one below :

Torrevieja

Situated next to the sea in the south of the Alicante province, Torrevieja is the nearest town to the Orihuela Costa. It´s surrounded by two natural salt water lakes and is populated by many Spanish and English alike. There is a well-known town square with a small church and street cafés, a harbour offering many different boat trips and a craft market every evening along the promenade. In addition to this, there is a municipal sports centre, a theatre, a water park, a cinema, a bowling alley plus many retail and clothes shops including a big shopping centre called “Habaneras”.

Orihuela Costa

Located to the south of Torrevieja, the Orihuela Costa has some of the most superb beaches along the coastline, most of which are blue flag. The region comprises of many well established residential areas that offer an abundance of restaurants, bars and other facilities including the popular "Zenia Boulevard", one of the largest shopping centres in the Alicante province. Some of these areas are listed below...

La Florida

There are many bars and restaurants in La Florida, two in particular being “The Emerald Isle” and “The Abbey”. You can enjoy the large terrace and public swimming pool at “The Emerald Isle” and “The Abbey” has a total of 4 bars (2 inside, 2 outside) and a lovely outdoor garden area. Both of these bars offer nightly entertainment including quizzes, karaoke and local bands catering to all music tastes. There are also other businesses located here such as a friendly, English-speaking DIY shop (Ferreteria), a local Spanish supermarket and a few more bars/restaurants such as La Familia, The Local, Mumbai Blue and Waldemars.

Los Altos

Los Altos is situated next to La Florida, but is a slightly larger area. In Los Altos you can find a number of local supermarkets, a bus service and commercial centres, including Via Park III and V where you'll discover lots of different bars, restaurants, hair salons and post rooms. Our office is situated in Via Park III.

Playa Flamenca

On the other side of La Florida you will find Playa Flamenca, which boasts two beautiful sandy bays and a newly created promenade. With it´s various shops, bars and eating places, there is the ever popular “Flamenca Beach Commercial Centre” which also has many other services to offer. This is a very popular location with holiday makers and residents alike due to it´s coastal position and assortment of amenities.

In addition to these areas, you will also find La Zenia, Villamartin, Cabo Roig, Campoamor, Punta Prima and Los Balcones to name a few. There is every possible service you could ask for in the Orihuela Costa including banks, supermarkets, gyms, schools, go-karts, 4 golf courses and the Torrevieja hospital.
